Tomorrow is officially the last day of 2017! Which means only one more day to figure out what to wear. I found this velvet dress at Forever 21 for ONLY $8 the other day and thought it was perfect for NYE or any formal event for that matter! For only eight bucks, I think this dress looks pretty dang good. I wanted to wear something besides the typical black or sparkly dress for New Years, and thought this color was perfect.
How I styled this dress is for a more dressier occasion. You could also pair it with OTK boots and some silver hoops to dress it down for a night out on the town with your friends. I went with big wavy curls for my eyes, a super glittery eye with my new favorite eye shadow, and a statement gloss! And of course I couldn't do a NYE post without poppin' champagne ;)
The first time I saw a pair of striped trousers with buttons down the side, I immediately thought of my middle school basketball days. My team basically had the same exact pair in our school color. I think it's pretty awesome that this sporty yet very chic pant is in right now! It adds a little bit of tomboy flare to a look that I absolutely love.
Pants like these are great for work, going out to dinner, or whatever you may have in store for your weekend. I'm a fan of wearing a simple, plain top with a pant like these. That's why I opted for this sweater from H&M, which by the way is SO soft. I bought two!
I wore this look in Nashville this past weekend. I spent the day Christmas shopping and then ended the night with dinner in the Gulch. It was a perfect little getaway weekend for Jordan and I!
I've linked my pants here and below are a few more options (some are even 50% off right now)!
So if you scroll down a little you'll see that I kinda, sorta like these "Mom Jeans". Actually, I love them. I would buy 100 more pairs but I'm ballin' on a budget just like the rest of y'all. What's really cool about these jeans are that they're trendy, they're flattering, and can be worn however you want. I've worn mine with a tee, silk cami and blazer, heels, and flats. The cut out knees also add a little flare to the jeans making them much cooler than those jeans your mom wore when she was our age ;) If you're looking for a cool pair of jeans that won't break the bank, GET THESE! Trust me.
There are three pieces of clothing that I think are a must for fall: cool jackets, booties, and good layering pieces. These three looks have them all and are some of my favorite fall looks. And most of these pieces are actually from Forever 21! So they're cute, cheap and versatile. They also transition into winter effortlessly.
Top // Similar Jacket
Easily one of my favorite outfits. Green bomber jacket paired with a black high-neck sleeveless top (price). Accent this look with a fun belt and earrings! Not pictured: My favorite OTK boots
Shoes // Jeans
Lately I've been adding a more athletic vibe to my outfits and I think this outfit is the perfect example. Its fun rocking tennis shoes with a cute outfit!
Hey guys! I've rounded up some of my favorite Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales to help make shopping a little bit easier these next few days! Some sales have already started, so make sure to check the dates. You don't wanna miss out on something ;)
Y'all, it finally feels like fall in Tennessee! I was really getting tired of the "hot enough to go sleeveless but not hot enough to lay out and tan" weather (yes I just made that up but you get it)! There are a lot of different trends happening this fall and I gotta be honest, they're kind of weird! White booties? Mom Jeans? And yet I want them all. I almost feel like I'm breaking all kinds of fashion rules with these trends but that's what makes them so great.
So break all the fashion rules this season. Wear white booties even though its after Labor Day. Spend money on a pair of jeans that look like yours mom's from high school but covered with holes. Feel sexy in a lace satin top and don't give a damn about what anyone says. I can't wait to fully embrace all of these trends this season, especially white booties!
Have a great week you guys! It's a busy one for me, but I wouldn't want it any other way :)
Just because it's fall, doesn't mean that only sweaters are allowed. Don't get me wrong, I love a good oversized sweater but it's still hot as h-e-double hockey stick here and I just cant bring myself to wear them yet. This top is the cutest top for transitioning into fall. The cut-out shoulder detail with a high neck is extremely flattering and adds a little sexiness to the top. It's perfect for a night out with friends, date night, or even a fun work top! It also comes in two colors and is only $22!
I asked you all on Instagram to send me any questions you had for me, so here are the most frequently asked questions!
I'm still looking for the "perfect" foundation, but two of my favorite are Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation and Maybelline Fit Me for a drugstore foundation. Lately I've been wearing Fit Me in 220 because I'm in-between colors! If you all would like to see a foundation review of all the ones Ive tried, just shoot my an email and let me know!
Are you still in school?
No! I graduated in May 2017 and finished school in three years! I was able to graduate early because I took so many college courses in high school and took summer classes all through college. I'm now trying to "adult" the best I can haha.
Is blogging hard?
This questions always brings me back to why I started my blog, for fun. I wanted to start a blog because I love fashion, beauty and everything in between and I wanted to share that with people! Blogging is more work than you would think, and I only blog about once a week! If you're wanting to turn your blog into a business, then it definitely takes a lot of work. Some bloggers are constantly working on growing their blog, working with brands, doing photoshoots, etc. I however am not at that point in my life where I can put that much time in my blog. So for now, I will continue to blog for fun. That way, it's stress free!
How long have you been dating your boyfriend/did you meet in school?
Three years! We are from the same city and have known each other for a long time. We started dating once I started college.
Where is your favorite place to shop?
Nordstrom. Hands down. It has everything you could need and more and they also carry all of my favorite brands!
What mascara do you use?
Better Than Sex by Too Faced! I swear by it. Nothing compares!
Is blogging what you want to do as a career/where do I work?
I work for The University of Tennessee's Athletic Broadcasting, VFL Films. I' working towards my goal of being a sports broadcaster and one day becoming a sideline reporter for a major network! I would love for my blog to become almost like a part-time job. I think it would be awesome to incorporate my love of fashion into my love of sports!
Happy Thursday! My favorite season is officially here, FALL, and I couldn't be more excited! Everything about fall makes me happy. The clothes, the food, the leaves changing colors, everything! It's still pretty warm here in Tennessee, so most of my outfits right now are more transitional outfits, like this one!
I love finding affordable pieces that can be used for multiple looks or even all together. This transitional look is one of my favorite fall looks and it is UNDER $100. This skirt is only $15 and has cute lace-up detail. This cardigan is another great piece that is a must-have for fall/winer. It's only $18 but looks and feels expensive. Ive worn it with a skirt and jeans, and it looks good with almost anything!
I am working on more unique content for future for y'all so stay tuned :)
